CHEMICAL ENZYMOLOGY DIVISION
LABORATORY OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL ASPECTS OF ENERGY BIOCONVERSION Bioluminescence: Principles and Applications

Lubov' Yu. Brovko graduated from the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University at 1973 and since then she is working at the Division of Chemical Enzymology of Moscow State University. She obtained the degree of Ph.D. in chemistry in 1980, and the degree of Doctor of Chemistry at 1992. In 1976 she started the studies on the mechanism and kinetics of bioluminescence catalysed by firefly luciferase. She proposed a kinetic scheme of luciferase reaction on the base of integral kinetics method as well as the mechanism of inactivation and stabilization of luciferase in soluble and immobilized forms; her recent studies are devoted to the interaction between enzyme and product by fluorescent methods. Brovko L. has also developed several bioluminescent methods for analysis of ATP, AMP, ADP, creatine kinase in different systems. She is the author of more than 40 papers, 10 patents (Russian).
